What year is your unit? Have you worked out if its an early or late unit? If your VIN starts at location 0x80 its a late unit. If it starts at 0xF0 its an early unit

Find the location of that and we can work out if its early or late and then tell you where the startup logo byte is ;)

hey guys not sure where im suppose to ask questions but i thought here will do.

ive just been down to my local jaycar and got some resisters but the closest ones they had to whats needed are, 2.4k, 2.7k and 5.6k.

so im asking will these still work and if so will it change anything ? also should i use the 2.4k or the 2.7k

any help would be great thanks.

shouldn't be asking.. should be looking/reading.. all the info is in the tech document area on carrying out this mod... it shows/explains the differences between the different value resistors

Try to check the white cable which connect the CD player to the mother board of the unit coz some times when it has a slight lose it can cause such a problems with the sound
