thanks zerone I really do appreciate your respond to my post :D

let me tell you what I've done up to now for the HVAC issue , I went to the scrap yard and I took the HVAC module from the Caprice and I replaced it with my old module :) now I can control all of the AC buttons even when the screen in the "Vehicle Data Mismatch" mode, but the only problem is the EXT Temp its always -40 due to the missing sensors, but since I can completly control the temperature in the cabine :) I dont think its a big deal :P
Now the only thing balance is the radio programing :!:

Exactly. The way I see it is the forum is here to learn ( do that by READING) not asking for every step every time and by sharing / posting new findings that may interest benefit one another. Lately all you read are first time posters joining up to figure out how to do their own car and asking all the questions that zero one has placed into a tech doc. Once they have their answers they fuck off never to he heard of and never actually contributing something. As Jezza said if you can't find it on this forum then don't fucking try it.

I recently recieved a radio to program from a customer who had purchased it off eBay. Was meant to be a working unit so the seller advertised. When I recieved it I tested it on the bench first and low n behold all it did was sort the cd's out. The screen was blank and no lights. I informed the customer abc delved further into it. After pulling the bin I found it had been butcherd with both a my9.5 file and a my07 file. And more disturbing was that the VIN in it was the vin from my own personnel car. So basically I can only think it was sourced from this site ( only place my bin file is posted) And some hack has had a go at trying to make it work. Fucked up and passed it onto Some poor buyer.

This thread is about 21 pages long and prob half are Uninformative posts by lazy people asking how to spell their own name. If you need to ask some of the most basic questions or are making such stupid comments then you really should just not fucking touch it

I am all for sharing and posting and I have asked some silly questions in the past ( that's how we learn). But not after trolling through the whole site and reading everything and seeing it hasn't been asked or answered before.

Gggggggrrrrrrr. I get down off my soap box now. ROFL

Hi all, awesome forum and great work by all for series1 radio upgrade. I have been trying to find a thread about programing a series 2 IQ system to series 1. Its only mentioned once in this thread that you can operate radio without VIN by cutting a wire but this knocks out hvac controll. I have googled n googled but seems you need to pay $1600+ to get the system from a store. Has anybody looked into these yet ?
Cheers n thanks in advance for any help :? :?

Yep, this has been worked out, but because of what has happened with the Series I headunits,
(I.E. as soon as we posted up the information, there were a number of people selling our hard work for a nice tidy profit,
without contributing ANYTHING back)....
A lot of these guys too were royally pooch screwing these conversions, and the poor buyers were coming on to the website, asking for help on how to fix the problems.
(One of the head units actually had an EEPROM dump from one of the members here, complete with his VIN number)...

So with the Series II Holden IQ stuff, the guys working on it are kinda loathe to let this happen again.
You best bet if you want a conversion, is to contact DoubleDip. (Ultimate wiring conversions).

The programing price he charges is very reasonable, (Unlike JHP) and he can enable all the fun features such different startup screens,
change the background colour, enable Aux video, reverse camera, rear fader, etc...
(Please note: this stuff cannot be programmed via the usual EEPROM method).

I hope this helps.

*LIKES THIS POST*

But your right Matti. This time around with the IQs it will be different. You play, you submit info, you are rewarded with more. You don't understand how to dig deeper or try and find a way then perhaps the information may be a bit over your head anyway...then pay a professional like doubledip that spent the time to work all of this stuff out
