You can change the color to blue, but to do that you need to change the LEDs used to illuminate the screen.

Hope this helps

I am new to this and not sure this is where to post a question. However, my question is there a location in the eeprom of VE stereo or fascia that you can turn the "security missmatch"in the VE Calais stereo?

Hi there Jamesrule,

The security mismatch is caused by either,
1) The seed/key values not matching between the main unit and the fascia, or
2) The VIN number set on the main unit is incorrect.

The Programming head unit EEPROM doco has the EEPROM locations for these

Cheers

Thanks so much for your replied .Sorry I had not put my question properly so please let me try again.I would like to know is it possible to program the eeprom(eeprom location) in tha fascia or the IRC(body of the unit) so that it will work (without mismatch lockout) with the same car (like Calais)that is without knowing the VIN.The reason I ask this is because I know how to change one location of the eeprom in Ford BA/BF and the ICC do not ask for security code anymore.I hope to get you response.Thanks.

Im not quite sure if I understand the question correctly.

Maybe if we try and explain an application.
I am assuming you want to be able to pre-program a headunit so as you can fit it to any VE Commodore, without having to get the vehicles VIN number that the headunit is going to be fitted to ???

For Series I headunits, the answer is simple, the headunit MUST have a matching VIN number programmed in to it to power up, and not show a mismatch error.
If it is possible to have the headunit to work completely without a valid VIN number programmed in to it, then it is not publicly known.
(The HVAC functions will work for a Series I headunit with a VIN mismatch, however the audio functions such as radio/CD/MP3/Aux Video and Park Assist will not work)..

For Series II (Holden IQ models), things are around the other way.
You can get the Audio functions to work without programming the VIN in the Headunit, however you would need to cut the SW Can wire to the headunit,
so as the headunit would never receive the VIN broadcast on the BUS.
Note, this would also mean that the headunit could not be used for HVAC, Steering wheel controls, park assist, speed sensitive volume, and key/driver dependent settings will not work

Imagine I want to send a ve Calais Fascia to a friend who have the exactly the same fascia and when he received my fascia and put it to his stereo and everything working like normal including cd /radio /air cond etc. So my question is there a way program the eeprom location so the word "mismatch security"not appear on the screen.By the way I do not have his VIN number.thanks.

If its just the fascia, you will need to obtain the seed/key pair for his head unit, and program this in to the fascia.
(This is assuming he is keeping his main unit, which is already programmed with the VIN Number).
