Hi velj,

The second EEPROM programmer you have listed there, a couple of people have tried this and have had issues with the software, trying tongetnthe thing to work.

Do you still have the rs232 EEPROM programmer ?
If you do, it sounds like a software issue, I.e whatever software you have is not talking to the EEPROM programmer properly.

Are you using ponyprog2000 as the software for this EEPROM programmer ?
I wrote a quick guide a couple of weeks ago on how to use these EEPROM programmers.
Which may help ?
doc-holden-commodore-ve-eeprom-programming-for-beginers-d69m19.html

A friend recommended a good $40 programmer on eBay a while ago, but I lost the link.
I will have a search during the day to see if I can find it, however it may be easier to see if you pcs motherboard has an rs232 header for connecting an rs232 port, so as you can use the existing programmer ?

Ah DO NOT get that USB programmer! It doesn't come with software, and when you find the "developer" software, its in Chinese and doesn't even work correctly!

Zerone is right through, theres a couple $40 usb programmers on ebay which will do the job.

But your definitely going to be fine with the serial port programmer if you have an oldschool computer with a serial port.

You have tried the clip on the chip both ways right? Ive had a clip where the red stripe was in the right spot, it was located on pin one and no go. Flipped it around and I was set

I have one of those rs232 to usb adapters as well, You may need the additional 12V power supply into the programmer for it to work?

As check how you have the clip orientated as Jezza Stated.

Here is a link to the one we use at work.

http://www.symetrix.com.au/downloads/US ... rivers.zip

There are a few different models, so the drivers for this one may not be suitable.

As for the 12v power supply, it only needs to be 12v d.c., and the plug needs to physically fit.

Other than that, you van use anything.
