Do you have the Extra HVAC sensors and the passenger temp blend door motor fitted ?
Or have you added the resistors to trick the HCE in to thinking that the sensors are fitted ?

(Dont forget that if you are fitting a DZ HCE to a car without the extra DZ sensors such as cabin and exterior temp sensors, then you will get the above problem)...

It might be something as simple as just just missing this last step ????
(I know, there are a heap of pages to go through... I will try and strip the important stuff out, and add it all in a doco at some point)....

just an fyi for everyone.

With my brother's car as he lives in a pretty hot climate area i have set his external temp to 40c and on my first attempt got my resistors mixed up and put something like 6c for the internal temp. Needless to say the aircon was pretty piss weak when you wanted lots of cold air.

I ended up putting the correct resister on the internal sensor for 26c and the aircon blows plenty of cold air now.

Hey everyone,

I just joined the board and hope to be performing the SZ to DZ convert to my G8 once my programmer arrives. I am just wondering, will anything show up on the screen formerly used on my base G8 (SV6 equivalent) to show radio information above the stock radio? I know in some higher levels that screen shows gauge info. If it does not change to those automatically, is there a way I can program the change w/o access to a Tech2? Thanks.

the screen will just be blank. it requires programming via tech2 or alternative method to be switched to sports mode.

How hard is the "alternative" method? Would it be something like what I need to do to the radio/hcm programming?

I think at the moment, there is no alternative method.
From the snippets of information that I have seen around, the sports mode for the LCD triple / Atari gauges seems to be enabled via the BCM.

(I have heard of a person that has the non LCD headunit that had his LCD gauges converted to sports mode with a 6cyl model).
He then purchased a new LCD Gauge (SIC) module from an SV6 model (again with the non LCD headunit), hoping
that it was some setting on the LCD gauges, and that they would just work with his radio.
This was not the case, the new gauges operated the same way as the previous gauges.

I have two different BCMs (not including the BCM in my car right now), that I am hoping to get a chance to play with.
One is from a HSV Model, the other from a Calais.
Hopefully I get some time soon. I am hoping to dump the EEPROMs from these, and try and set the VIN numbers and see if I can get them working on my car.
If I can do that, then I am hoping to see what features I gain or lose, depending on the BCM fitted.
(I will be fitting them to a Calais V, so it will be interesting to see if things like puddle lamps, or tire pressure monitoring work or start working ?)

I hope this helps ?

The 2 gauge and 3 gauge stuff for the SIC depends on the main application software in it and then it has to have a matching eeprom with other data. A SIC from a no LCD unit has all of the text etc in it that it will display a 2 gauge has bugger all in it.

Matti just a heads up, getting a dump from eeprom in the BCM may cause it to lose some important information eg, key locking.
If you havent read, grunt lost function using his key buttons after reading, been assuming this is some sort of security measure withing the eeprom.

VE's run an RFA module (handles central locking, etc etc), its not stored in the BCM
