Discuss Diagnostic Trouble Codes and Parameter IDs for the Holden VY and VZ Commodores, Pontiac GTO, Vauxhall Monaro, and Chevrolet Lumina Models

Have fitted new BCM and key pad, have linked BCM to PIM and authenticated codes between modules with Tech2, still same fault code returns. And no start condition. Wondering if anyone has had this symptom before, or has test procedure for DTC P0513

Don't know about the code. Fuel pump, relays, immobiliser.
Had the same prob on vp hsv & was the immobiliser.

doubledip would have asked that question because of the internal network used to communicate and authenticate the ECU, PIM, BCM. Plus the BCM is the gateway and interpreter for all the networks. The fuel level is sent on the same network. If its not working its a comms problem.

Has plenty of petrol in tank, and fuel guage operation appears to be working as it should do. Has no injection pulse whilst cranking..

Yes they do have crank angle sensor which is operational. . Code P0513 wrong transponder signal.. returns but key has been programed and unlocks all doors and boot and turns off security light on dash and allows eng to crank over but not start..fuel system is immobilized by security system. Have tested voltages at PIM which are to specs.. seems to me that PIM or BCM is not receiving correct security signal from ECM or not in correct time.. Would like to know if someone has seen this fault before or has test procedure for this particular code not other codes....

Have you checked around ignition switch, may not be sending transponder code to bcm...bad connection/worn
I have posted some where else that I had the same problem with a VP HSV & it turned out to be the connector for the immobiliser under the dash (after 4 hours & a sore back!). It would crank but the same thing, no inj pulse

The immobilizer system on a vp comm totally different to vz..Slip ring around ignition barrel ok and has good communication with BCM as security light goes out when buttons on key pad pressed or when turning igniton on whilst security light flashing light does stop security light flashing. And live data on scan tool shows that side of security system operating as should..
