The MSVBxxx.dll is just the visual basic run time library mate. It's with every vb program. It handles strings, dialogs etc. no use looking in there

The password is calculated though an algorithm in the main exe

Looks like you can have as many users as you want, they probably have an algorithm calculator the can put your username into to generate a password to give you the level access they want you to have.
I you type your name into the username box and leave the password box empty, you come up as the registered owner but with default access.

Dave.

Just make sure that you did go the right place and not just the case statement for the selection of the name to be displayed in the title. because thats what the case statement i showed in the screenshot. It wont unlock any other features, just make the title different

Ah.. you might be right there Jezza, Using the step functions shows that its already locked in to go down the "default path".. I think!, Will need to trace back to the start and see where if goes from there.

Did you fine the case statement in the software? If I knew the area I could add a jmp command etc and make a little patch program or just hex edit the exe

Just a bit of a warning for everyone, if you playaround with the "disable eeprom security" command and then try some write commands (manually through tp5 etc) you can corrupt the eeprom!
I found out the hard way and now have to desolder the chip and rewrite it (my eeprom clip hasn't arrived yet)
The cluster is totally non-responsive in every way! lol.

Possibly too many writes wipe the eeprom? (security measures)
Or found a command that wipes the cluster?

There is a reset cluster form in there that I unlocked in the program..

Will need to stumble across the very start of the program and step through each line of the program.. Hopefully find another if/case statement. The graph view should show us the path the program is going down, and if we can alter it.

Just to follow up on this 1 Dave, do you still have the plastic security card with all the original details for this car?
If so it should have the BCM security code on that & I can give you the details 2morro once I'm at workshop & if you can confirm for me it would be great!

Did a bit of testing with my snap-on MT2500 scan tool today & it seems to send out more information than a car as this was on a bench & only BCM connected hence fault codes in BCM!

Interesting all the same with info for messages sent!
