hey guys

i just finished reprogramming my ssv headunit for my ss.
i can now access the headunit but i have no sound.
the only way i have made the sound work is mute and unmute the volume under 36 then you can hear the music very very faintly but as soon as you touch anything it disappears.
the beeps will still play fine threw the speakers so im hoping its only something simple.

i have put my ss headunit back in and sound works fine.
also checked all the connections.

anyone have any ideas ??

thanks

Just a thought, If the RSE is enabled it has a setting for rear headphones which mutes the rear speakers. Not sure if it mutes the front speakers or changes the volume level. cheers

Man I'd love to help you, but I don't know much about the series 1. The best thing to do is program it back to original, then program one or two lines at a time & take notes of what you have changed.
With the IQ system, the early SII's have good sound quality, but after the latest update the bass & volume disappear a fair bit. It's all in the programming. See if you can get hold of a wiring diagram for both, as the outputs (such as speaker outputs) may be different. You could be earthing the speakers out......try it on the bench if you can with independent speakers hooked up. I am sure you can find the diagrams on this forum, or ask zerOne, he's pretty switched on with these. Cheers

S1 and IQ you cant run on the bench (well you can but you have to send the right packets so they dont go into security lockout straight away)

To the OP:

Undo everything you have done. Start from scratch and stock as mentioned and work from there.

Jezzab, I thought you could run the IQ on the bench & it will only lock out when it receives a vin #.

They are iffy on the bench. I had one on there for two days and was fine then locks out, other ones had VIN not present straight up
